DJ RUCKUSS

DJ Ruckuss was born in Dearborn, MI and raised on the west side of Detroit. Growing up listening to mainly hip hop and R&B music, he quickly developed a passion for music in general. Respecting music of all kinds, he wanted to make an impact on the entertainment industry in his own special way. After graduating from high school and attending the University of Michigan in 97', he started to experience the nightlife in Windsor, just across the border of Detroit. His trips to Canada quickly influenced his interest in deejaying. Ruckuss noticed that many of the deejays weren't able to keep anybody on the dance floor… either because they didn't know how to mix, or they just weren't playing music the people or crowd wanted to hear. Intrigued with curiousity, Ruckuss felt he could control a crowd based on his musical knowledge. He took it upon himself to learn the art of deejaying in late 97'. Obviously, it takes quite a bit of time and money to learn such a craft, so he worked in retail for his first years in college and saved up some money to buy a set of beginner's turntables and a mixer.  He first learned how to scratch because he was fascinated by the manipulated sounds of the record by simple hand and fader movements.  He practiced this for several months, then learned how to beat match and mix two records. After he felt he was ready to showcase his skills to the world, he got in contact with a local promoter in the metro Detroit area who was known to host very successful events. He submitted a demo, and they hired him as one of their mixers. Alongside the promoter, Ruckuss was able to spin at the hottest nightclubs in Metro Detroit and throughout the Midwest  From here, his career in the music industry took off and was able to expand his mixing skills in other forms of entertainment, such as private events and weddings. 
  With RPM Entertainment, Ruckuss will strive to show the world that deejaying and mixings isn't simply limited to nightlife entertainment or just playing good music.
